Updated RTP rate tests and certifications

RTPratesFor those of you interested in how much of your hard earned is being  returned to you by casinos (if you’re not you should be!), then you’ll be happy to know our RTP rates page has been updated to incorporate latest month results.

The RTP (return to player) rate basically tells you how much of every dollar staked is being returned in winnings. A 99% RTP rate for example, tells you that for every $100 in bets placed, $99 is being returned to the player(s), and $1 is being won by the house. The higher the RTP the better!

Most (not all) operators have their historical RTP rates tested by third parties and most (not all) make these results available on their websites.

Unfortunately in many cases live dealer games are not exclusively tested. Results are often lumped in with the RNG game tests which does dilute things somewhat.

In other case live games are not tested at all. The rationale here seems to be that testing RTP rates is an exercise aimed at proving that the random number generator being used for computer generated outcomes is doing its job properly. When it comes to live games this aim becomes a little redundant. Indeed the spiel on some operators ‘Fair Gaming’ page often goes something like…

Our RNG games are tested by accredited third party testing agency XYZ to prove returns consistent with real world outcomes. If you are still not satisfied that these games are fair, you may wish to try our live dealer games which use real casino equipment…”

Personally when it comes to putting real money chips on a table, whether the cards are virtual or real, I reckon too much information can never enough (so long as that information is accurate and useful) so the more operators extending their tests to include live games, the better!

You can read the test outcomes and view certifications here.
