Pragmatic Play’s Immersive Roulette Deluxe

This is Pragmatic Play’s Immersive Roulette Deluxe.

It first made an appearance at a select group of casinos at the end of January 2025, but is more widely available at casino’s carrying Pragmatic’s live games now.

In a recent news release from Pragmatic, their COO Irina Cornides described Immersive Roulette Deluxe as follows:

“Immersive Roulette Deluxe from Pragmatic Play preserves the popular features and fast-paced gameplay of roulette while elevating the player experience to include slow-motion replays of the ball landing in the wheel.”

The concept of a slo-mo replay of a live roulette ball drop isn’t new. Nor for that matter is the title Immersive Roulette. Evolution’s Immersive Roulette has been running since 2013. More on that later.

For now, lets’s have a closer look at Pragmatic’s version.

What is Immersive Roulette Deluxe?

For those new to the Immersive Roulette concept, it is simply a live roulette game (single zero, European Roulette bets and payouts) with a quick cutaway after the result to a close-up, slow motion replay of the ball bobbling around and dropping into the resulting pocket.

Place your bets as you would on any live roulette game using the table bet map or racetrack for neighbours bets. The Croupier then manually launches the ball and Pragmatic’s multiple high definition video cameras capture and deliver the action to you.

Game results history (up to 500 previous spins) and statistics are all available at click and the interface and table itself are all very nicely presented, as we’ve come to expect from all Pragmatic’s live games.

The Immersive concept is better conveyed via video (see bottom), rather than words or even pictures. But the above pic does give you an idea of how closely and clearly the result is captured.

Evolution’s Immersive Roulette

As mentioned above, the original Immersive Roulette game from Evolution first went live back in 2013. Save for the minor interface tweaks it operates today pretty much how it did then.

It has been a popular live game for over a decade. It’s consistent popularity no doubt motivating Pragmatic’s copy. And copy probably isn’t too strong a description. Having a successful blue print to work from has advantages. One of the traps though is sticking too close to the blue print when it’s not yours.

From the slo-mo camera angles used (Evolution with more depth of feel but angles very similar) to the games’ title, the similarities between the versions are uncanny.

It’ll be interesting to see if Evolution take any action on Immersive Roulette Deluxe.

Presenting Evolution’s 2024 results, CEO Martin Carlesund listed cracking down on copy-cat providers infringing on Evolution IP as one of the company’s big challenges of 2024 and into the future.

During 2024 they sued Light & Wonder for patent infringement relating to their Roulette X multiplier game. Evolution argued it was a copy of their long running Lightning Roulette. That lawsuit was was only recently dismissed.
