Feel the need to Squeeze? Try Club Macau

The whole card peeking or card squeezing ritual in baccarat is a mystery to me. Probably a mystery to most gamblers outside the Orient. But fact is, plenty of baccarat players feel a desperate need to get a peek at those baccarat cards before anyone else on the table, and literally destroy the card in the process!

Not that it changes the value of the card, or the outcome of the deal in any way whatsoever (which is why I can’t fathom it). But a need is a need. And wouldn’t you know it, where there’s a player need, casinos will generally do their darndest to see that need satisfied if it means more players at the tables.

Squeezing playing baccarat live online is a bit of a challenge. The cards are real but not exactly tangible for the players sitting on the other side of the computer screen, so until super duper virtual reality comes to live dealer gaming (in which case try and keep me out of those Latvian studios) it’s going to be a little clunky. But this hasn’t stopped developers giving it a ago.

Playtech’s (Asian studio) VIP Baccarat (at bet365, Dafabet, Ladbrokes etc) offers card peek in the form of an inset video viewable only by the highest staking player for that position (Player or Banker). Entwinetech have had something similar on their Premium with Card Peek Baccarat game for some time (playable in the Imperial Suite at 188Bet).

Now there’s another online peeking/squeezing option. It’s new at M88, and can be played inside their recently introduced Club Macau casino.  Basically all baccarat tables inside Club Macau let you peek/squeeze cards (sort of).

Taking a peek at the Banker 3rd card…

Baccarat card squeeze

All players here are able to have a squeeze. As long as you’ve got chips on the table, you get to peek at the cards (all dealt initially face-down of course). So while you’re peeking at the cards dealt to Banker (assuming you bet Banker), so are all other players who staked chips on a Banker win. Makes no sense. No sense at all.

You get to bend every card dealt to your bet position (1st, 2nd and if required the 3rd) from its corners or edges using your mouse.

As you can imagine, with all that squeezing going on for ALL cards this is a very slow live baccarat deal!
