Here’s a fact that Canadian players searching for a place to play live dealer games should be aware of:
You will not be able to play them at a casino using Microgaming’s live casino games.
This seems to be a Microgaming dictated policy, no doubt arising from the fact that their live games studio is located within Canada, so all casinos taking there live games are bound by it. But for some reason disclosure, and in some cases customer support awareness of this policy at the casinos isn’t as clear as it could be.
Canada is not listed as a ‘restricted territory’ or ‘prohibited jurisdiction’ in terms and conditions at 32Red, Royal Vegas, Roxy Palace, or Platinum Play, and indeed Canadian players players are welcome to register an account, deposit money and play their RNG games. But not their live games. A similar situation exists at a bunch of other casinos running M’gaming live dealers.
I’m sure there’s no mischievous intent here (some may disagree with this). Rather a case of a 3rd party policy that is inconsistent with the casino’s general policy and which applies to a small percentage of games offered…and it’s fallen through the cracks.
The fact that it seems to have fallen through the cracks at just about every casino can be a source of frustration if you are a Canadian looking for a place to play these games. This is further exacerbated by the fact that quite often, casino support staff aren’t fully aware of this exclusion.
So to all the Canucks out there looking for a place to play live blackjack, roulette or baccarat let me save you going on a wild goose chase; from unnecessarily registering an account, depositing cash, having your bets are rejected in the live casino then engaging in confusing live chat sessions with support staff.
If you want to play live dealer games, choose another platform!
