Celebrate the F1 opening weekend with a race of your own

The 2017 Formula 1 season is well under way, with a couple of practice sessions already done and dusted at Melbourne’s Albert Park circuit.

Biggest controversy thus far at the Australian GP has been the debate over whether or not the race would be blessed with the presence of grid girls. Pretty girls on a race track is very sexist according to the chorus of disapproval emanating from Australia’s kill joy fraternity, and for a moment there it looked like race organizers were actually going to be completely swayed by this fraternity.

In the end they were only partially swayed. There will be grid girls, but they’ll be dressed more like flight attendants than grid girls.

Race proper gets underway Sunday. Hopefully Daniel Ricciardo can manage a win.

There’s another big race taking place this weekend inside William Hill Live Casino. It’s a straight wager race that is already underway; the checkered flag is waved midnight Sunday. The more £, €, $US or $CAD you stake on any of their live dealer tables until then, the more race points you earn (1 point per £1 staked).

£50,000 in cash (for the top 10 places) and bonuses (places 11th to 3,850th) will be awarded to those on the leader board at promo’s end. The winner takes £3,000.

Full details, and prize table for the £50,000 stakes race are here.

Thankfully Australia’s kill joy fraternity have absolutely no say what goes on inside William Hill’s live casino.
