More Canadian moves for Evolution

Evolution have been been busy in Canada.

Yesterday they announced not one, but two new live game supply deals.

The first will see the AGLC’s recently launched PlayAlberta casino carry a bunch of Evolution’s live games for their Albertan resident customers. Six games including baccarat, roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Infinite Blackjack are already up and running. More will be added in coming months.

Evolution’s Commercial Director Jeff Millar described the deal as:

“…another proud moment for Evolution in the roll-out of our services in Canada. We are committed to delivering enhanced online gaming choice and entertainment for Albertans in the most exciting way possible with our world-leading games portfolio”

AGLC are the third Canadian provincial lottery organisation to add Evolution’s live games, joining BCLC and Loto-Quebec. They (Evo) have a bit of a strangle hold on government run casinos in Canada at the moment. Having a locally licensed studio in Vancouver probably helps.

The second deal is with the Canadian Bank Note Company (“CBN”).

CBN have a lottery division which has plans to operate online casino games in select jurisdictions around the world. They have chosen Evolution to supply their live dealer tables.

More interesting than the supply deal, is the fact that a company that makes bank notes for governments around the world has aspirations in the online casino industry.

Founded in 1897, CBN has been supplying the Bank of Canada with its notes since 1935. It presently supplies paper and high tech polymer composite bank notes to the reserve banks of more than 30 countries worldwide. They also dabbles in the production of various identity documents (passports, drivers’ licenses etc).

CBN also has a lottery division which looks after the end-to-end establishment and operation of lotteries for clients in a number of countries around the world (notably across Africa and Latam). The plan is to expand the digital offering of some of these lotteries with casino games, including live dealer.
