Evolution Introduces live dealer Dragon Dragon

Dragon Dragon place bets

Welcome to Evolution’s live Dragon Dragon table.

It’s a game that is completely new to the live dealer format. Very simple to understand, fast paced and with outcomes entirely dictated by shake of 2 coins. What’s more, it offers returns that aren’t too bad at all – slightly better than a game of European Roulette.

Dragon Dragon was released in the first week of April 2026, and you’ll now find it in the lobby of most casinos carrying Evolution’s live games.

How to play Dragon Dragon

The premise is very simple.

At the heart of game are two coins each with a Red Dragon side and a Gold Dragon side. The coins are shaken in turn in separate bowls and your challenge is to predict whether they will land on the same side or on different sides.

There are only three bet options:

  1. Red Dragon (both coins land red side): payout 2.9:1
  2. Gold Dragon (both coins land gold side): payout 2.9:1
  3. Dragon Dragon (coins land different sides): payout 0.95:1

Dragon Dragon shake

Once betting time closes the dealer shakes each bowl in turn and then lifts the lids to reveal the winning combination.

Dragon Dragon red dragon win

Winning bets receive the prescribed payout. Incorrect bets are lost.

Dragon Dragon Expected Value

The beauty of this game is its simplicity, making the probability of outcomes clear. There are only 4 possible results:

  1. (Red, Red)
  2. (Gold, Gold)
  3. (Red, Gold)
  4. (Gold, Red)

The chance of a Red Dragon result (or Gold Dragon) is 1 in 4. The chance of a Dragon Dragon result is 2 in 4. With payouts for each outcome fixed, the game’s expected value calculation is an easy one. In an era of RNG multipliers and complex bonus games, this is refreshing.

Remembering the the Expected Value calculation is: EV=P(win)×(win payout)+P(lose)×(loss payout)

For Red Dragon or Gold Dragon bet…

EV=1/4×(2.9)+3/4×(−1)
=0.725−0.75
=−0.025

For Dragon Dragon bet…

EV=1/2×(0.95)+1/2×(−1)
=0.475−0.5
=−0.025

All three bets come an EV of -0.025. The equivalent of a 2.5% house edge or 97.5% theoretical return to player (RTP). With the same return for all bets, the game’s playing strategy becomes pretty straight forward. There is none.

Dragon Dragon Payouts and RTP

Here’s a summary of the bet payout and RTP situation. The game’s 97.5% RTP compares favourably to European Roulette at 97.3%.

Bet Win condition Payout Probability RTP
Red Dragon (A) 2 x Red side 2.90:1 (3.9x) 1/4 97.5%
Gold Dragon (B) 2 x Gold side 2.90:1 (3.9x) 1/4 97.5%
Dragon Dragon (C) Red & Gold 0.95:1 (1.95x) 1/2 97.5%

What’s the bet we see a Dragon Dragon table introduced by at least one of Evolution’s competitors within a year?
