Win one of 10 iPads at 888

You have to hand it to the folks at Apple…they could sell ice cream to the Eskimos.

Take the iPad.  Or rather, take the iPhone.  Make it bigger.  Remove the camera.  Remove the phone.  Call it  magical and revolutionary (rather than ‘the big iPhone that does less stuff than the iPhone’)

And hey presto… it’ll no doubt be one of this year’s biggest selling techie items.

And you know what?

I desperately want one.

I’ve become addicted to my iPhone and I suspect the same would be true with an iPad.

I once saw a program on telly about a woman who had fallen in love with the Eiffel Tower.  Not the kind of love most tourists who are fond of the famous Parisian landmark feel for it…something more akin to the love you feel for your husband, wife or sexual partner.  She married the tower and became Erika La Tour Eiffel.

Now I hate to judge others or make any calls as to what’s normal and what’s not…but let’s face it, Mrs La Tour Eiffel is a nut-bar.  And she’s not alone.  There’s even a name for those who fall in love with inanimate objects – objectum sexuals.

Thing is, since I got my iPhone I’m worried that I have become an objectum sexual.  It doesn’t leave my side.  I panic when it does. I would cry if I lost it, and only stop crying when another could take its place.

So yes, I want an iPad. And as fortune would have it, the good people at 888 are giving 10 of them away on June 29 and to go in the draw to get one, you’ll need to play there between now and then.
