Biggest ever prize pool funded by a live game supplier

That’s what Pragmatic Play are claiming.

It’s a fair claim too. They’re funding 100% of the prize pool. And it’s a massive pool.

€/£7,000,000 in cash total. €/£1,000,000 per month over 7 months. Half of that is being carved out for live games. That’s a whopping €/£ 500,000 per month that will be shared by players on Pragmatic’s live tables, over and above any net wins from regular game play.

As a network-wide offer, you can take part in this one by playing at any casino carrying Pragmatic’s live games. Plenty of solid brands on this list now, including Mr GreenLeo Vegas888 and Unibet (with their exclusive Pragmatic tables).

So what’s it all about?

In a word, leaderboards. Lots of them.

Running weekly from now until 17 November will be a bunch of leaderboards. There will be live blackjack leaderboards. Live roulette leaderboards. Live baccarat leaderboards. Mega Wheel leaderboards. Most weeks they’ll be multiple leaderboards running concurrently. As we speak, there’s a blackjack one and a roulette one.

This is the simple part. Because the leaderboard concept is simple. You earn points as you play designated games. The more points you earn, the higher up the leaderboard you go and the more cash you win.

The classic and perhaps simplest leaderboard is based on turnover – every €1 staked earns a point. Total net win is also popular one. We’ve also seen number of net wins (ie disregarding value) or equalised wins used as the chosen metric to give the smaller players a chance.

Simple.

Usually.

Pragmatic have come up with a new points structure. Kudos for being unique. More kudos for designing a structure that lets big and small players alike top the tables.

But sheesh, this one is hard to get your head around.

Of course it has to be said understanding the mechanics of accumulating points is not essential. The leaderboards will be automatically updated in near real time (around a minute after your play earns points your position is updated).

If minutia is not your thing, just know that you are earning points based on consecutive wins. The longer your win streaks (amounts not important) the more points you rack up.

If you are a stickler for the details, you should have a good read of the terms. But brew yourself a good coffee first and strap yourself in.

Here’s but a snippet of the type of language you will be absorbing.

A win qualifier (hereinafter each a “Win Qualifier”) is used to define whether the win is considered as a Qualifying Win or not for the point calculation of the respective Weekly Tournament, as set out in the “Point distribution for Consecutive Qualifying Wins” table below. If win-plus-Qualifying-Bet-divided-by-Qualifying Bet is greater than a configured Win Qualifier for the participating game(s), as further detailed below, in each Weekly Tournament, the win is considered as Qualifying Win. The below is a non-exhaustive list of in-game events with respect to the Win Qualifier and/or Qualifying Win:

Clear as mud? To muddy things further, qualifying bets and qualifying wins differ by game type.

This is one of more than 50 paragraphs making up the T’s and C’s on this offer.

I’ll be having a crack at this promotion. There’s too much cash up for grabs not to. But I’ll be taking the Keep-it-Simple Stupid approach, playing (for example) live blackjack with only this in mind:

  • A main game win (not push) is a qualifying win
  • A streak of these gets me points
  • The bigger the streak, the more points
