Gonzo’s Treasure Map Live from Evolution

Gonzo’s Treasure Map from Evolution is now live.

They could have named it the Return of Gonzo as the little Spanish explorer (father of Dora) first made an appearance in Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt back in 2021. That game didn’t quite hit the mark with players, so it was sent back to the workshop for a makeover. Gonzo’s Treasure Map is the new and improved version.

You can play it at most live casinos carrying Evolution’s games.

It’s Evo’s second game overhaul after they relaunched Gold Bar Roulette as Gold Vault Roulette. That redo involved a return to the proven winning formula of simple multipliers which players can’t seem to get enough of.

How to Play Gonzo’s Treasure Map

Unfortunately Gonzo’s Treasure Map, like its predecessor. is an entirely RNG affair.

All outcomes are computer generated. There are no physical elements of random chance and the presenter has no purpose other than discussing happenings in the game or other random chit chat.

As our fondness for all-RNG ‘live games’ is quite limited let’s make this brief so we can all return to a good game of live blackjack!

Gonzo's Treasure Map placebets

The game starts with you placing your chip(s) on any of the 70 squares on the treasure map. Once bets close, the squares turn over to reveal the location of 3 Gonzo Keys.

Next, 5 gold block randomly drop down the map, each coming to rest on a square.

Gonzo's Treasure Map win

If a gold bar comes to rest on one of your chips (as above), you earn a 10x payout on that chip.

In addition to regular gold blocks the occasional multiplier gold block will drop for a 20x payout on any chip it lands on.

Gonzo’s Bonus Round

If any of the gold or multiplier blocks lands on one of the Gonzo Keys (as below), the bonus game will be unlocked by Gonzo. If you are lucky enough to have a chip on that Gonzo Key, you are in the bonus game and stand a chance for a nice payout on your chip.

Otherwise, you’re just watching the game.

Again, the bonus game is an entirely RNG affair. A bonus wall is revealed with multipliers assigned to each square. A ruby block randomly drops onto one of those squares to decide the bonus game payout.

If you’re in the game there’s nothing to do but wait to see how much you’ve won.

House rules and theoretical returns

There’s not much more to this game, but should you wish to delve further the full house rules are here.

No surprises to find the expected return to player rate is low, sitting just above 95%.
