Microgaming live platform upgrade Part 1 – Blackjack

It was only a couple of months ago that Microgaming undertook a significant live platform upgrade.

This wasn’t a small tweak to the existing games; it was more like a total makeover with a completely different looking interface and a bunch of very smart features added including the ability to play multiple tables simultaneously and bet behind for blackjack.

This all happened just a few months ago, so you can imagine my surprise when I received an email from Tobias from Microgaming’s Live Games team giving me a heads up that they had updated their software again!  Must be a very minor tweak I thought.

Wrong.

Now, with one click of the game view selector and you go from this…

…to this…

Live dealers as they should be…in full screen glory! And what about the background!  Remember that old blue screen backdrop behind the dealers that looked absolutely nothing like a casino.  It’s been replaced with a very stylish and ambient gaming floor.

But wait there’s more (no I’m not selling steak knives).

Video quality selector

One of the issues live game developers have to deal with is trying to deliver great video quality over a broad range of connections types/speeds.  A high super high quality video may look great over certain connections, but freeze-frame or simply not work over poor connections.  There’s a balance that needs to be struck.  We touched on this issue in a post on Flash versus Java games .

To overcome this Microgaming now have a video quality selector so you can optimize the video for your particular situation.  There are six settings to play around with.

Nice surprise from Microgaming and apparently there are more changes on the way (dealer chat maybe????)

These upgraded games are already available in browser play format at Canbet.
