2022 Live Casino Gaming Award Winners

Online casino awards season for 2022 has now wrapped up.

Some surprising results. Some not so surprising results. Some confusing results. And one very big upset. Here’s a quick whip through who won what in categories related to live gaming.

The EGR Operator Awards took place on October 27, at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London hosted by comedian Stephen K Amos.

Kaizen Gaming took out the award for Operator of the Year. 888 went back to back taking the title Casino Operator of the Year again.

All the usual suspects were well represented on winners lists of other awards, including William Hill (Football Betting Operator), bet365 (Mobile Sports Product), Entain (Mobile Casino Product),  and Betsson Group (In-play Sports Operator).

Emerging power Stake.com took out the new category of Crypto Operator of the Year.

The EGR B2B Awards took place back in June at The Brewery in London.

Pragmatic Play took out the award for Casino Software Supplier. Playtech were named best Poker Supplier.

Having taken out the Live Casino Supplier award 12 years running, Evolution would have been hottest of hot favourites to win number 13. They didn’t. An upset to be sure. An even bigger upset that they were dethroned by Vivo Gaming rather than Pragmatic or Playtech – both more credentialed contenders.

Evolution could take some consolation in winning best Online Slot Supplier, via subsidiaries NetEnt and Red Tiger.

The American market focused Global Gaming Awards were held where else but Las Vegas. There were fewer shocks at these awards.

Digital Operator of the Year went to juggernaut FanDuel. Digital Supplier of the Year went to Evolution who have made it their mission to conquer the US regulated market.

If we were handing out an award for ‘weirdest award outcome’, it would probably go to the International Gaming Awards in the category Live Casino of the Year (narrowly bumping EGRs Live Casino Supplier award).

Pragmatic Play were announced the winners. A very polished outfit. But a supplier, not a casino so not quite sure what was going on there. Mind you, the 2021 winner of this category was 1XBet – an operation with murky Russian roots which was stripped of its UK Gambling Commission license in 2019 after revelations of promoting a “pornhub casino” and bets on children’s sports.
